TDP MLAs Foreign Trip, Naidu Upset!

TDP held an important extended meeting at the party’s central office in Mangalagiri on Sunday. The meeting was called with urgency, and party leadership insisted on the attendance of all MLAs, MLCs, MPs, Rajya Sabha members, and district leaders.

While leaders from other wings of the party attended in good numbers, a surprising 56 out of the 134 MLAs were absent. Even among those who did show up, a few reportedly signed the attendance sheet and quietly left soon after.

The meeting was intended to lay out the groundwork for a state-wide campaign titled “Manchi Prabhutvam”, which will run non-stop from July 2 until the end of the month. The goal is to explain the coalition government’s policies, especially the recently launched “Super Six” welfare initiatives, to every household in the state. Given this background, the meeting was considered highly significant.

CM, TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu was reportedly upset about the large number of absentees. Around 15 MLAs were said to be out of the country on foreign trips, with unclear return dates. Others who attended the meeting but left early without participating fully did not go unnoticed either.

Though Chandrababu did not bring up the absentees during the seven-hour-long session, he reportedly addressed the issue immediately afterward. He questioned how so many MLAs could skip such a crucial preparatory meeting for a major public outreach campaign. He warned that those who fail to serve the people who elected them might face consequences in the next election.

He also expressed displeasure at prolonged foreign trips by elected representatives, saying such behavior was unacceptable. Chandrababu added that he had a list of those who signed in and left midway and made it clear that he would take appropriate action soon.
