Who Initiated the Revanth-Babu Meeting?

The two chief ministers of the Telugu states, Andhra Pradesh’s Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana’s Revanth Reddy, have repeatedly spoken about maintaining friendly relations. However, several administrative and operational challenges continue to concern both leaders.

One of the main reasons behind the current situation between the two states is the ongoing dispute over the Krishna and Godavari river waters. Though this issue has existed for many years, a clear solution is yet to be found.

In this context, the central government has stepped in and invited both Chandrababu and Revanth Reddy to attend a meeting in Delhi on July 16. A related circular was issued by Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil recently.

According to the circular, both chief ministers are invited for a meeting in Delhi to find a peaceful resolution to the long pending water disputes between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

This move follows Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s efforts to seek clearances for Krishna water distribution and financial support for Telangana water projects.

Now, the central government is expected to find common ground and ensure proper access to water and funding for irrigation needs. The meeting scheduled on July 16 is likely to play an important role in this process.

Meanwhile, CM Chandrababu Naidu is already scheduled to visit Delhi, where he will meet Union Ministers including Amit Shah, Ashwini Vaishnav, CR Patil, and others. His visit will take place from July 15 to 17. If all goes as planned, the meeting with Revanth Reddy could also take place during this time.

For now, we will have to wait and see if both Chandrababu and Revanth Reddy agree to go ahead with the meeting in Delhi on July 16.
