Mega Star Chiranjeevi is widely known as a respected and soft-spoken public figure. He usually stays away from controversies. But this time, the Megastar had no choice but to approach the High Court after facing unexpected trouble from GHMC officials.
He owns a house in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. This house was built many years ago with proper permission from the government at that time. Recently, Chiranjeevi decided to renovate the house. Since the building is old, he planned to add a retaining wall and carry out some basic structural changes.
Following the rules, he submitted an application to GHMC on June 5 requesting permission for the renovation. Almost a month passed but there was no response. Even after following up with officials over the phone, there was no clear reply. With no option left, he moved to the High Court seeking help.
In the court, Chiranjeevi explained that he was only asking for permission to renovate his legally approved home and that he had followed all required steps. He said that the silence from GHMC was unfair.
During the hearing, the High Court questioned GHMC over the delay. The judge asked why officials are slow in approving legal works while illegal constructions are being allowed in the city. The court expressed its displeasure and asked GHMC to give a timeline for granting the permission.
The court also directed GHMC to issue the necessary approvals as quickly as possible so that Chiranjeevi can begin the renovation of his home. This unexpected legal fight shows how even a public figure like Chiranjeevi had to struggle with official delays.
