Telangana Govt Assigns Key Role to Upasana

Making a big move for sports development,The Telangana Government has put Upasana Kamineni right at the center of its big plan to boost sports across the state. In a bold move, she’s been named co-chair of the brand-new Board of Governors, a powerful team set up to lead the Sports Hub and guide the TS Sports Policy 2025.

Upasana Kamineni will be working as co-chair alongside Chairman Dr. Sanjiv Goenka, a top business leader, and a team of sports legends and experts. The rest of the team is packed with sporting stars and experts, including:

This is the first time a state has formed such a powerful and diverse board for sports. Their job is clear, make sure sports money is spent right, support young talent and raise Telangana’s standards to international levels.

This is the first time in India, sports management seems to be included in the sports governance of the state where the key sports entrepreneurs and sports persons interact under the shadow of the governance to create a neo-sports eco system that doesn’t just benefit the players but provides a major opportunity to build a market around sports.

The Sports Hub isn’t just a building, it’s meant to become the heart of all sports activity in the state. With the help of these top names, Telangana wants to ensure that every aspiring player no matter where they come from has a real shot at success.
