Andhra Pradesh’s economy is showing strong signs of recovery after years of slowdown during the previous YCP government, which struggled with poor investments and weak financial planning. With the NDA taking charge in the state, things are now improving quickly.
In a major milestone, Andhra Pradesh recorded its highest ever GST collection in July 2025. The state collected ₹3,803 crore in GST, which is a 14 percent increase compared to the same month last year.
This is the highest percentage of growth in GST collection in South India and puts Andhra Pradesh at third place among large Indian states. This boost clearly shows that the new leadership under Chandrababu Naidu is helping the state’s economy bounce back.
The growth is being powered by sectors like agriculture and IT. Especially in Visakhapatnam, the IT and ITES industries are growing fast. Projects like ITIR (Information Technology Investment Region) are expected to bring in ₹3.11 lakh crore investment and create over 15 lakh jobs, according to official data.
If Andhra Pradesh continues this progress, experts believe the state could even cross Singapore’s $900 billion GDP and reach a $3 trillion economy by 2050. However, this will depend on maintaining positive investment trends and avoiding the kind of setbacks seen in past years.
