The unruly regime of the previous YS Jagan government was marked by political vindictiveness and extreme misuse of the police department to target opposition cadres. This was the very reason why TDP and Janasena repeatedly protested against the oppressive measures of former CM Jagan.
However, with the return of the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh, legality is making its way back into the law and order system. This is clearly reflected in the latest India Justice Report, which confirms that the rule of law has truly returned to the state.
Andhra Pradesh has now ranked second among the big states in India for the best management of law and order. The ranking takes into account several factors such as policing, judicial functioning, and other aspects related to social and legal governance.
From 2019 to 2024, Andhra Pradesh’s ranking was much lower, but that is no longer the case. The NDA government is now strictly enforcing proper maintenance of law and order.
While Karnataka tops the list with a score of 6.78 out of 10, Andhra Pradesh follows closely at 6.32. Telangana is in third place with 6.15, followed by Kerala at 6.09 and Tamil Nadu at 5.92.
One of the core principles announced by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was the strict maintenance of public law and order, and he appears to be delivering on that promise as the numbers now speak for themselves.
