The Pulivendula assembly constituency has been a strong fort for the YS family for many decades. Historically, this seat has remained with the YS family regardless of the political climate across the state.
However, the tide is slowly starting to change with the unprecedented dominance of the TDP in the Kadapa parliamentary segment. The TDP not only won the Kadapa MLA seat but also significantly reduced Jagan’s majority in Pulivendula, from 90,000 votes in 2019 to 60,000 in 2024.
Now, the situation appears to be turning even more against the YCP and its chief, Jagan, especially with the ongoing ZPTC election campaign in Pulivendula.
The matter is so significant that Chief Minister Chandrababu himself has turned his attention to the ZPTC election. He held a teleconference with leaders including BTech Ravi, Adi Narayana Reddy, Madhavi Reddy, and 40 others to discuss the ongoing campaign.
“I want you all to win the Pulivendula ZPTC seat by all means necessary. Bring me the ZPTC vote, and I will ensure the constituency sees extensive social development and public welfare. This victory will reflect the good work of the NDA government,” Babu reportedly said during the conference.
Winning the Pulivendula ZPTC seat from the YCP will be a challenging task, given the stronghold of the YS family here. But if the TDP and its NDA allies can unite to make it happen, it could trigger a major setback for the YCP in its traditional stronghold.
With CM Babu personally focusing on this seat and urging his team to get the job done, it remains to be seen whether this historic breakthrough will indeed take place.
