Andhra Pradesh chief minister, Chandrababu Naidu always makes it a point to take part in World Economic Forum that is held annually in Davos, Switzerland. He did the same this year as well and to a very good degree and the results are already starting to show.
Incidentally, chief minister Chandrababu had met the CEO of the largest freight operation company in the world Maersk while in Davos back in January. The primary point behind this meeting was to invite investments from this mega logistical company.
The meeting between Chandrababu and Vincent Clerc at Davos 2025, where a $1 billion investment by Maersk was initiated, in a bid to leverage AP’s 1,000-km coastline for logistical operations.
And now it has been communicated that the parent company of this logistical superpower, APM Terminal is going to pump in the range of $1 billion in Andhra Pradesh’s ports. Related communication was issued yesterday.
The $1 billion commitment from APM Terminals, a Maersk subsidiary, announced on August 25, 2025 is a part of the Rs 9000 Cr investment plan in Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board.
While the original meeting that happened in Switzerland earlier this year was a principal understanding between Chandrababu and the CEO of the company. The actual results are starting to show in Andhra Pradesh now.
