US President Donald Trump has once again made big claims about his role in global peace. Speaking in Washington DC, he said that within just seven months, his administration managed to stop seven wars around the world.
“Nobody has done what we did in seven months. We stopped seven wars,” Trump said. He added that the Russia-Ukraine conflict, which he thought would be the easiest to handle, turned out to be the most difficult.
Trump also spoke about other long-running wars. He claimed one had lasted 31 years and was said to be impossible to end, but he solved it in just two hours. He also said he ended conflicts that had been going on for 35 years and 37 years. However, he did not give details of which exact wars he was talking about.
Many critics feel Trump is overpromoting his achievements. In the past, he claimed that he stopped a possible nuclear war between India and Pakistan, but the Indian government directly denied his role, saying he had nothing to do with it.
Trump has also openly said that he is the right person to be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize because of his efforts. While his supporters agree and praise his deal-making style, others believe he is exaggerating and taking credit where it is not due.
His latest remarks have again sparked debate worldwide, with some seeing him as a leader pushing for peace, and others viewing his statements as political self-promotion.
