TTD Executive Officer J. Shyamala Rao has been transferred by the Andhra Pradesh government after continuous differences with TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu.
The problems between the two started during the Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan, when a huge rush led to a stampede-like situation in Tirupati, which caused death of many devotees. Right in front of CM Chandrababu Naidu, the EO and Chairman argued openly, which drew wide criticism.
Later, more issues added to the tension. The rumours on death of cows in Tirupati Goshala brought criticism from the opposition, and the EO was blamed for not handling the matter properly. He was also accused of failing to stop religious propaganda inside temple areas and for not working in coordination with the Chairman.
Recently, during the lunar eclipse, the Chairman performed a temple ritual to lock the sanctum, but the EO skipped the program intentionally, according to reports. This created more friction and ultimately led the government to move Shyamala Rao out of TTD and post him in the General Administration Department.
