Uppada Thanks Pawan, ₹323 Cr Sanctioned, Works Begin

The Big Dream of Uppada people has finally turned into reality. The Coastal Protection Project worth ₹323 crore, one of the biggest-ever amount sanctioned for any village in India for infrastructural development, has started and all thanks to the firm efforts of Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan.

For years, the sea has been eating away Uppada’s land, destroying homes, roads, and people’s livelihood. Many promises were made, but nothing concrete happened. It is only after Pawan Kalyan took up this cause with seriousness and pushed the Central Government repeatedly that such a massive project was cleared when the proposal was just made official two months back.

With Janasena having a strong power backing in the region backed by Kakinada MP Uday and tourism minister Kandula Durgesh, Uppada’s handloom industry is also hoping to revamp and given access to international markets, while a beautiful beach corridor will be developed to boost the local economy.

Locals, especially fishermen and weavers, are relieved that their lives and future will now be safe. They openly say that this lifeline has come only because of Pawan Kalyan’s dedication. It is worth appreciating that TDP’s Varma has been actively engaging with people on the ground, listening to those directly affected. His dedication was evident when he was nearly swept away by a strong wave while visiting one the affected areas in Uppada – a moment that went viral on social media. Such efforts reflect his commitment and are commendable, keeping the trust people have placed in the coalition government.

Officials themselves admit that this is the first time in India that such a large sum has been allotted for a single village’s protection. The project will now safeguard Uppada for generations to come amidst the climate change and rising sea level.

Back in 2024 before elections, during the campaign, Pawan Kalyan at a massive public meeting in Uppada, said sea erosion is a serious problem for the entire coastal belt of Pithapuram. He promised that only a large plan with advanced technical expertise and central government support can provide a permanent solution to this major climate change issue.

This great achievement shows what happens when a leader works with commitment. Pawan Kalyan has proved again that he is a man of action, not just words.
