Three time Hindupur MLA and Sr Hero Balakrishna once again made headlines in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly with his sharp words. Targeting former CM Jagan, Balakrishna called him “Psycho Gadu”. Though he didnt directly mention Jagan name, the topic is say so.
While Balakrishna is known for his fiery speeches, such words in the Assembly raise many questions. Calling Jagan a “psycho” may give temporary political mileage, but it also damages the seriousness of the house. Even more, bringing Chiranjeevi into the issue has created fresh controversy.
This is where the situation gets tricky. Chiranjeevi’s younger brother Pawan Kalyan is today the Deputy CM in the same government Balakrishna represents. Targeting Chiranjeevi indirectly puts Pawan also in an awkward position. With TDP and Janasena running the state together, such comments could cause discomfort inside the alliance in the future.
Political heat is natural, but personal attacks and film references in the Assembly may backfire. Balakrishna could have restricted his attack to Jagan’s governance record instead of using words like “psycho” or dragging Chiranjeevi’s name. For now, this has turned into a war of words, with YSRCP leaders countering Balakrishna by questioning his past and branding him the “real psycho.”
How this will play out inside the NDA coalition, especially with Pawan as Deputy CM, remains to be seen. One thing is clear — with just one phrase, Balakrishna has once again kept Andhra politics buzzing.
