Official: Meet BRS’s Jubilee Hills MLA Candidate!

The news is now official. The BRS has announced Maganti Sunitha, the wife of the late BRS MLA Maganti Gopinath, as its candidate for the upcoming by-election in Jubilee Hills.

A short while ago, KCR approved Sunitha’s candidature for the Jubilee Hills by-election, necessitated by the unfortunate passing of the late MLA Maganti Gopinath.

Gopinath was a senior leader in the BRS and remained loyal to the party after switching from the TDP before 2014. KCR held him in very high regard and took his loss personally when he passed away due to medical reasons earlier this year.

Now, KCR has rewarded the Maganti family for their loyalty by allocating the MLA ticket to Sunitha. She is expected to have a natural advantage in the upcoming Jubilee Hills bypolls due to the sympathy factor.

However, both the BJP and Congress are taking this by-election very seriously, so a tough contest is expected among these political forces, with the BRS also in the fray.
