Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu drew a sharp contrast between his governance and the previous YSRCP rule, saying, “I am not a Tughlaq like Jagan.” Speaking at a public meeting in Vizianagaram district, Naidu accused former CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of suppressing the people’s happiness during his tenure.
Naidu said that under Jagan’s administration, citizens could not even celebrate festivals freely as trees were cut and trenches dug to control public movement. “People were constantly restricted and their joy was suppressed,” Naidu added, pointing out that the 2024 elections had restored freedom and hope to Andhra Pradesh.
Highlighting his government’s focus on citizens, Naidu pointed to the Super Six welfare schemes successfully implemented so far, including financial support for families with children under Thalliki Vandanam, direct aid to farmers through Annadata Sukhibhava, free RTC travel for women under Stree Shakti, three free gas cylinders annually under Deepam-2, ₹15,000 aid for auto drivers starting October 4, and the creation of 15,000 jobs through the Mega DSC recruitment drive. Naidu also noted that ₹48,000 crore had been spent on pensions in just 16 months, showcasing the government’s commitment to welfare.
Reiterating his promise, Naidu said his administration is focused on development, stability, and happiness, unlike Jagan’s “Tughlaq-like” rule, which he claimed was marked by fear and unnecessary restrictions. He assured citizens that under his leadership, Andhra Pradesh will move forward with people-first governance and progress.
