From Rejection To Mass Elevation, The Makeover Of Andhra Pradesh

For any state to prosper and create a self-sufficient economy, it is quintessential that it can invite substantial investments. This was what was lacking in the case of Andhra Pradesh in the previous Jagan regime.

Let alone bringing new investments, the previous government could not even keep hold of the existing investments. Several companies like Lulu Amar Raja, and several others left the state after the onset of the Jagan government.

Reverse tendering protocol, reckless management of portfolio, and tormenting companies over petty issues led to a complete plummeting in Andhra Pradesh image globally.

However, Andhra Pradesh has already completed a quick turnaround, thanks to the NDA government and chief minister Chandrababu. The state has progressed soberly that in a span of 16 months, mega companies like TCS, Infosys and Google are readily setting shop here.

In what could be considered a remarkable achievement, Andhra Pradesh could secure a tweet from other than Google CEO Sundar Pichai himself.

On the occasion of Google signing an agreement with Andhra Pradesh government for the establishment of its first AI hub in India, Sundar Pichai shared an interesting tweet.

“Great to speak with India PM @narendramodi @OfficialINDIAai to share our plans for the first-ever Google AI hub in Visakhapatnam, a landmark development.

This hub combines gigawatt-scale compute capacity, a new international subsea gateway, and large-scale energy infrastructure. Through it we will bring our industry-leading technology to enterprises and users in India, accelerating AI innovation and driving growth across the country.”

Until 2024 companies were absolutely shattered and reluctant to enter Andhra Pradesh. Several companies even called out the previous government for their word twisting and lack of support.

Cut now in a span of 16 months, Andhra Pradesh has reached a point where even Google CEO Sundar Pichai about the investment opportunities here. In fact, they are setting up their first AI hub in India in Visakhapatnam, which could have been a distant dream under the previous government.
