Mithun Reddy Flying To New York: Whom To Blame?

The previous Jagan government in Andhra Pradesh had a relentless approach when it came to targeting political opponents. They left Pawan Kalyan and Chandrababu absolutely breathless with their unprecedented oppression. In fact, Babu himself was jailed during Jagan’s regime.

But it appears that the new NDA government is not as aggressive when it comes to political gameplay. Despite the strong alliance between the TDP, Janasena, and BJP, the coalition doesn’t seem too focused on striking back at their political rivals.

For instance, consider the case of YSR Congress MP Mithun Reddy, who was arrested in the liquor scam case and spent 72 days in jail. Even during that time, he reportedly enjoyed adequate amenities in prison and was even granted bail during the vice-presidential election.

Similarly, in the case of YS Jagan, there hasn’t been much movement regarding his CBI and ED cases. He continues to travel abroad freely without much resistance or scrutiny.

While some people are questioning the political strategy of the BJP and TDP for not acting firmly against these leaders, certain political observers believe the BJP might be playing its own game. They suggest that BJP could be going easy on Mithun Reddy, possibly paving the way for his future entry into the party. The privileges Mithun reportedly enjoyed in jail, followed by his smooth foreign travel while out on bail, could be seen as signs of leniency from the BJP.

At the core of it all, the TDP was initially aggressive toward Mithun Reddy, but the yellow brigade now seems preoccupied with other matters. Chief Minister Chandrababu and IT Minister Lokesh are currently focused on investment opportunities rather than political vendettas, and this shift in priorities appears to be benefiting several YCP leaders who had tormented TDP cadres during Jagan’s tenure.
