The incumbent NDA government in Andhra Pradesh is highly focused on inviting new investments into the state. They have made it a point to participate in global summits and conclaves to open up new economic opportunities for AP.
In this context, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu flew to the UAE this week to meet global economic delegates and present the AP development model to attract investments. He reportedly had an eventful day yesterday, meeting several top business leaders. Meanwhile, IT Minister Nara Lokesh is touring Australia with the aim of bringing new business operations to Andhra Pradesh.
However, the YSR Congress Party is aggressively targeting these foreign visits by the CM and IT Minister, accusing them of neglect during a crisis.
In its latest statement, YCP claimed, “While Andhra Pradesh reels under heavy rains and floods, its top leaders seem to have chosen leisure over responsibility. Chief Minister CBN has reportedly flown to Dubai, while Minister Lokesh is said to be touring Australia.”
It is evident that YCP is portraying Chandrababu Naidu’s investment-focused official visit to Dubai as a leisurely trip.
The party further alleged that their absence during the crisis highlights administrative negligence and shows how disconnected they are from the people’s suffering. “The state is drowning, but its leaders are busy enjoying foreign trips,” YCP added.
Political analysts are pointing out the irony of these accusations, especially considering that Jagan Mohan Reddy recently returned from London, while Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh are currently on official tours aimed at securing new investments for the state.
