After 7 Years, Jagan May Appear in CBI Court on Children’s Day?

After a long gap, former CM and YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy may have to appear before the CBI court once again. The court has reportedly reminded him that his personal appearance is mandatory on November 14, marking what could be his first court visit in nearly seven years.

Jagan, who is currently out on bail in the disproportionate assets cases filed by the CBI, had attended court hearings before the 2019 elections. However, after becoming Chief Minister, he received an exemption from personal appearance citing administrative responsibilities.

Now, the Hyderabad CBI court, which continues to hear the cases, has issued a reminder about his mandatory attendance. The development came after a petition from the CBI alleging that Jagan provided a different contact number while seeking permission to travel abroad. The court, however, observed that the London trip issue was already closed since Jagan had returned, but reaffirmed that he must appear in person for the next hearing.

With this, legal experts believe that Jagan might have to step into the courtroom again after a long break. While CBI lawyers insist on his physical presence, Jagan’s legal team is said to be exploring possible options to avoid it.
