Reliance Industries Chairman and MD Mukesh Ambani, one of the richest people in the world, is a frequent visitor to the Tirumala temple in Andhra Pradesh, one of the most revered Hindu shrines. He is also among the top donors to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) trust, which manages the temple. On Sunday, Ambani visited Tirumala to seek the blessings of Lord Venkateswara Swamy.
After offering prayers, Ambani announced that he would join hands with the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams and the Andhra Pradesh government to build a new, state-of-the-art kitchen for Anna Prasadam. Every day, lakhs of devotees are served free meals (prasadam) by the TTD. Ambani promised to bear the cost of constructing the modern kitchen, which will be equipped with advanced automation technology and will enable TTD to prepare meals for nearly two lakh devotees each day.
Ambani thanked the state government and the TTD board for giving him the opportunity to partner with them on this noble initiative. He said it is a great privilege to serve Lord Venkateswara Swamy and to be part of the mission to ensure that no devotee ever goes hungry. He also mentioned that this initiative aligns with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s vision to expand the Anna Prasadam tradition to all TTD temples.
Later, Ambani visited the Sri Krishna Guruvayur Temple in Thrissur, Kerala, where he donated ₹5 crore for the temple’s development.
It is a known fact that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is determined to expand temple infrastructure across India and abroad by utilizing ₹2,000 crore from TTD’s Sri Venkateswara Temple Construction Trust, and to extend the Anna Prasadam services to over 60 more temples nationwide.
