One of the main complaints against YS Jagan back when he was the CM of the state was his inaccessibility to the common public. In his 5 year tenure, Jagan did not take many occasions to meet with the public and collect their grievances.
There were several reports about Jagan planning to hold Praja Darbar event to meet with the public but this never really took off between 2019-24.
But on the other hand, we have IT minister Lokesh, who is doing a very effective job with regard to Praja Darbar. Almost immediately after the formation of the new government, Lokesh made point to interact with the public and collect their grievances.
Add to that Lokesh has been making sure that these grievances get addressed in a rightful and timely sensitive manner. Subsequently, this mass outreach program gained a lot of significance, and Lokesh started to receive thousands of people at the Praja Darbars in Mangalagiri and other parts of the state.
And shortly after this significant project, that was brought ahead by Lokesh, even Jagan appears to be following a similar path now. He himself has started the culture of Raja Darbar at Pulivendula now and is actively partaking in the same.
In the five years, when Jagan was the CM, he did not take any occasion to start the mass outreach program. But now that Lokesh has started to do it effectively and is getting closer to the masses, Jagan is finding the mood and energy for the same, remarked a neutral observer.
