Everyone got to witness the kind of inhumane treatment that the capital region of Amaravati had gotten under the previous Jagan government. Jagan made an absolute mockery of the capital prospect with the three capitals approach which proved catastrophic not just for him but also for the entire state.
And now, the NDA government is doing everything in its power to make sure such detrimental effects won’t repeat in the future.
The government of Andhra Pradesh is proposing to present the Amaravati capital bill in the Parliament and get a gazette notification pass on the same. This is to validate Amaravati as the capital of Andhra, with no changes in the future.
When asked to provide an update on this matter, Union minister Pemmasani Chandrasekhar sounded optimistic about the possibility of the presentation of the bill in the Parliament.
“If everything goes well, then we are planning to present the Amaravati bill in Parliament. Chief minister Chandrababu is actively discussing this with union home Minister Amit Shah. The home department has already cleared the bill and it is under the jurisdiction of law department now.” Chandrashekar said.
Once the legal clearance is done and the backend activities are sorted out, the much awaited Amaravati bill could be presented in the Parliament hopefully in the upcoming session. And once this happens, the state can rejoice as they will have a permanent capital that can’t be touched by any other government in the future.
