Must Watch: Ex ISB Dean Explains How Babu Brought ISB to Hyd!

For nearly for decades now, Chandrababu has been enjoying the image of being one of the most progressive and visionary leaders in India, and this is again on display from a reputed academic expert.

Incidentally Pramat Raj Sinha, who had earlier operated as the first dean of the Indian School of business, ISB has spoken about how then chief minister Chandrababu brought the campus to Hyderabad.

Sinha revealed that the initial plan was to set up the ISB campus in Mumbai, but the then chief minister Bal Thackeray created an adverse situation. 

“The Bal Thackeray administration wanted to reserve 50% of the seats to Marathi students. They wanted as much reservation for the workers as well. We were genuinely pressurised by the administration back then. But we always felt educational institution must be free from such pleasures. This is when Chandra Babu from Andhra Pradesh, contact us through the McKenzie group that was operating mututally.”

Sinha revealed that Chandrababu was very warm with his invitation, and that is why they flew from Mumbai to Hyderabad, just to assess the situation here. 

“Immediately after our arrival, Chandrababu impressed all of us with his hospitality and progressive nature. He was ready to offer anything to bring the campus to Hyderabad. He even offered us surplus land facilities, which is now a hallmark of the city. It was a pleasure experience, and it was all made possible due to his dedication and commitment.” Sinha revealed. 

This statement coming from the former dean of the ISB itself is a perfect validation of how Chandrababu devised and executed the urban side of Hyderabad back when no one had even dreamt of something like this. This is the kind of vision that even brought another landmark campus Microsoft in close vicinity to the ISB which are now the Crown Jewels of urban Hyderabad.
