Fibernet Case Closed: Was Chandrababu Arrested Only for Vendetta

One of the most significant political episodes in Telugu states history was the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu by the Jagan government in 2023. The previous regime had been targeting Chandrababu since 2019, and the push reached its peak in 2023 when the Fibernet case was filed against him. It was alleged that he had cleared financial transactions worth 321 crore in an illegal manner. He was formally named in the chargesheet in September 2023.

Soon after the case was filed, Chandrababu was arrested and spent nearly two months in jail. Despite this, the authorities and the government failed to present any concrete evidence to prove the so called Fibernet scam.

Coming to the latest development, the Fibernet case has now been officially closed. It has been established that Chandrababu did not commit any financial wrongdoing or fraudulent activity in this project.

The turning point came when the previous managing director of the Fibernet department, Madhusudhan Reddy, submitted a written petition to the ACB court stating clearly that Chandrababu had not done anything wrong. This is the same Madhusudhan Reddy who had originally complained against Chandrababu in 2023, which eventually led to the arrest. The current managing director, Geetanjali Sharma, also confirmed the same position.

Following these submissions, the ACB court struck down the Fibernet case entirely. The matter is closed and has no further standing.

Ultimately, it is now clear that Chandrababu’s arrest was driven by political vendetta under the Jagan government and not based on any proven merit or evidence.
