Naidu Divides AP into Three Power Zones for Faster Growth

Andhra Pradesh is moving into a new phase of development under CM Chandrababu Naidu. Known for administrative reforms, he has now introduced another major idea to ensure balanced progress across the entire state. Chandrababu has decided to create three separate economic development zones based on the regions of Uttarandhra, Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema. The main centres for these zones will be Visakhapatnam, Amaravati and Tirupati.

This idea comes from the belief that earlier governments focused development on only a few places, which resulted in imbalance and loss for other regions. The new approach aims to make sure that infrastructure and industrial growth happen evenly across the state.

Chandrababu is determined to make the three zone system successful. Each zone will operate through an independent setup with clear administrative powers. A steering committee headed by the Chief Minister will guide the overall functioning. Ministers and MLAs will be part of this committee.

To speed up decisions and implementation, each zone will be led by a senior IAS officer who will serve as the Chief Executive Officer. Yuvraj will take charge of the Visakha zone. Mukesh Kumar Meena will lead the Amaravati zone. M T Krishnababu will head the Rayalaseema zone. These CEOs will have both financial and administrative authority, making it easier to attract investments and execute projects based on local needs.

As part of the new division, districts have also been grouped zone wise. The Visakhapatnam zone will have nine districts and will focus on port based industries, information technology and tourism. The Amaravati zone will include eight districts with priority on agriculture based industries, food processing, logistics and trade. The Rayalaseema zone will have nine districts and will work on renewable energy, mining, horticulture crops and spiritual tourism with Tirupati as the hub.

The government believes that the three zone approach can become a major game changer for the overall development of Andhra Pradesh. With each zone having its own goals and action plans, officials expect the state to move closer to its target of fifteen percent GSDP growth. The official orders for these reforms are likely to be issued soon. If implemented effectively, this model can become one of the most impactful administrative reforms in the state.
