After the significant defeat in the 2024 Andhra Pradesh election, YSR Congress has been steadily losing its footing in the state. It has reached the pinnacle point now as six of YCP MLCs who have already submitted their resignations have started to insist the chairman to approve their resignations.
A short while back, AP Legislative Council Chairman Moshen Raju was met by Karri Padmashri, Balli Kalyan Chakravarthi, Jayamangal Venkata Ramana, Marri Rajasekhar, Jakiya Khanam, Pothula Sunita who happen to be YCP MLCs.
It must be noted that all of these candidates had previously submitted their resignation to the council chairman. However, these resignations were not approved by the chairman till date as there was this customary lag in handling the same.
Vexed by this, these 6 MLCs who belonged to YCP approached the Andhra Pradesh High Court, which further instructed the council chairman to take the final decision within 28 days. In this context, these MLCs approached the chairman and called for approval of their resignations.
Now that there is a court order to verify the matter, the course chairman will have to act quick and perhaps approve these resignations as all these candidates again stated they’re resigning on own terms and there’s no pressure on them.
The point that must be noted here is that several public representatives associated with YSR Congress have already quit the party, and it turns out that these six MLCs who already filed resignations want to get it done quickly.
