The TDP has accused the YCP of deliberately obstructing efforts to rebuild and develop Andhra Pradesh. According to TDP leaders, every major initiative taken by the present government to attract investments and create employment is being challenged through legal hurdles.
They point to a recent PIL filed against the allocation of land to Raheja Corp for the development of an IT park in Visakhapatnam. The petition was filed by the Society for Protection of Constitution, and senior advocate Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy argued the case. TDP leaders allege that such cases are politically motivated and aimed at stalling development projects.
Reacting strongly, IT Minister Nara Lokesh questioned YS Jagan intentions towards the state youth. He asked why there is so much hostility towards projects that promise employment and economic growth. Lokesh stated that these IT projects together have the potential to create more than one lakh jobs for the youth of Andhra Pradesh.
He alleged that YCP has repeatedly filed cases against major IT investments, including projects by TCS, Cognizant, Satva, and now Raheja IT Park. According to him, these legal actions are not about public interest but about preventing investments from coming into the state.
TDP leaders further claimed that this approach is not new. They recalled how YCP had earlier filed cases against recruitment drives such as DSC notifications and police constable appointments. Now, they say, the party has gone a step further by challenging land allotments for IT companies that could provide livelihoods to lakhs of people.
The ruling NDA believes that while YCP failed to bring development during its time in power, it is now trying to stop progress by blocking investments.
