It is a fact that Jagan is a true mass leader in Andhra Pradesh politics. However, more often than not, his fans have been crossing the line when it comes to expressing their admiration for him. This was once again seen on the occasion of Jagan’s birthday last week.
During his birthday celebrations, fans across Andhra Pradesh, mainly in the Rayalaseema region and parts of the Godavari districts, created chaos. Several videos circulated on social media showing an animal bloodbath in front of banners and flex posters erected for Jagan. Many of these posters carried the YCP slogan “Rappa Rappa,” and the scenes that followed were disturbing.
In several places, fans slaughtered animals and spilled their blood on Jagan’s posters as a way of celebrating. While YCP supporters viewed these acts as mass celebrations, the general public and the state leadership strongly disagreed.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu reacted sharply, stating that while showing affection for political leaders is acceptable, killing innocent animals and spilling blood on posters is beyond comprehension.
Following this, the government has initiated action against those involved. Police have begun arresting individuals in Rayalaseema and the Godavari districts for acts of animal cruelty, ensuring they face consequences for their inhumane actions.
