United States president Donald Trump has started to torment India along with other coutures by enforcing endless tariffs and unreasonable sanctions. The latest geopolitics are suggesting that India is also making active moves to counter the Trump madness.
In this context, something very interesting happened at the European Union communication that came yesterday at the ongoing WEF Summit in Davos.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said she will be travelling to India next weekend to try to finalise a trade deal with India.
The ‘Mother of All Trade Deals’ will be the biggest trade deal ever as nearly 2 billion people would be within this trade agreement, allowing access to different markets within the 2 regions.
This deal when signed would position India to grow its textile industry and compete with China’s dominating textile industry, while allowing European companies to operate easier within India, such as automotives, drinks and food exports from the EU to India.
This deal comes as tensions with the U.S grow up and the EU has been looking for alternatives to lessen the impact. This could potentially end up benefiting India directly as the EU is making a significant advancement with a massive deal to India.
Considering the extreme tariffs that Donald Trump has been imposing on India, a big deal with the European Union would be the right solution for the Indian subcontinent as well.
