2 Hr Speech: Jagan Avoided Explaining His Photos on Passbooks

Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan, had an extended media interaction today, speaking for nearly two hours. The main focus of this interaction was the land titling act and the resurvey programme being carried out by the current Andhra Pradesh government.

Jagan claimed full credit for the land titling and resurvey programmes, stating that he was the one who implemented them during his tenure as Chief Minister.

However, the major point of concern is that Jagan avoided addressing the key reasons that attracted widespread negativity when these programmes were introduced under his government.

Firstly, Jagan showed an unusual fascination with printing his own photograph on the land passbooks issued to landowners. This move was strongly rejected by the public.

He then took it a step further by having his name and photograph imprinted on the boundary stones distributed during the YCP regime. This act pushed his obsession with branding government schemes to another level and was again met with severe public backlash.

Interestingly, despite speaking about the land titling act for two hours today, Jagan did not once explain why his photograph appeared on land passbooks and boundary stones. He had an opportunity to clarify the biggest complaints against him but chose to avoid them. Instead, he confined his interaction to blaming Chandrababu and claiming credit for the land titling programme.
