The other day, YS Jagan criticised TDP and Janasena leaders while speaking about Sankranti celebrations in Andhra Pradesh. He accused some MLAs and MPs of encouraging recording dances and gambling during the festivities.
In this context, Jagan targeted Minister Vasamshetty Subash. He alleged that the minister danced irresponsibly and inappropriately on stage during recording dances, saying Subash lost his dignity by doing so.
However, Jabardasth comedian Shanti Swaroop, who was present on the stage during the celebration, released a clarification video. Shanti Swaroop, known for his lady getup roles in the comedy show Jabardasth, stated that Minister Subash was not at fault.
He explained that a group of artists was invited to perform during Sankranti and were given work as part of the celebrations. He said it was generous of the organisers and Minister Subash to support the artists. Out of respect, the artists requested the minister to come on stage and dance briefly.
Shanti Swaroop added that the minister danced on his own for a short time, and he himself joined the minister on stage. He said Jagan misunderstood the situation and wrongly claimed that the minister danced shamelessly with women. According to him, Jagan spoke without knowing the facts and indirectly hurt the livelihood of artists like them.
The comedian strongly criticised Jagan, stating that the former chief minister failed to verify basic facts before making serious allegations at a public forum.
