Elections In 3 Months, But Ignores In Budget?

Generally, when a state is heading for Assembly elections, it is expected to get significant grants and allocations in the union budget from the central government in order to woo the voters.

But in the case of Tamil Nadu, this is not even remotely the case as it is being opined that the state got blatantly ignored by the central government, despite the fact that Assembly elections are barely three months away.

Shortly after the announcement of the union budget, Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin stated “Since failure is guaranteed anyway(in TN elections), the Union BJP government has once again snubbed Tamil Nadu!

There are no new projects for Tamil Nadu; the already due JalJeevan & education funds are also missing; oh, even the usual Thirukkural quote is absent this time! When asked for next year’s budget, they’ve recited it like a 5-year plan. In short, #UnionBudget2026 is a disappointing budget! #NDABetraysTN” he tweeted.

There are complaints that Tamil Nadu did not get any significant or notable projects or financial grants from the union government.

This is not what was expected from the NDA government, which is looking to capture Tamil Nadu with the alliance with AIDMK. Despite the fact that elections are barely three months from now, the state allegedly did not get any favours from the central  government.
