Of all the problems that YCP could bring up in the ongoing parliamentary sessions, the party MP YS Avinash Reddy asked if Natu Kodi (country chicken) is costlier than mutton in Andhra Pradesh.
Yes, you read it absolutely right. The YCP MP Avinash Reddy wrote a letter to the parliament saying Natu Kodi prices are going up alarmingly and said they’re going beyond mutton prices these days. He asked the central government to clarify on this matter, effective immediately.
The Animal Husbandry Ministry reacted to the issue and clarified that a kilo of natukodi costs ₹500, while a kilogram of mutton costs ₹900, making the former cheaper than the latter.
It was further clarified that the central government is ensuring politely farmers are compensated during havocs like bird flu and others.
This was followed by an appeal from the YCP MP as he called the central government to ensure that the Natukodi prices come down.
While there are several topics like securing funds for Amaravati, Pallavaram Project and even Avinash’s domestic issues in Kadapa, he found Naatukodi prices to be the biggest problem, a netizen funnily commented.
