Are Telangana Congress leaders worried about Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena contesting in the Telangana municipal elections?
Telangana Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has strongly objected to Pawan Kalyan’s political involvement in the state. Congress leaders are bringing up old remarks made by Pawan about the Godavari districts and Telangana. They are trying to project him as someone who spoke against Telangana’s identity in the past.
One of the main points being highlighted is the so called “evil eye” comment. Leaders claim that Pawan once suggested that the greenery and prosperity of Andhra attracted jealousy from Telangana people. In today’s sensitive political atmosphere, such statements are being used to label him as anti Telangana.
Another argument from Congress leaders is that Pawan Kalyan’s political base is in Andhra Pradesh and that he does not have a strong ground level presence in Telangana. They question why he is trying to expand his political space in a state where his party has limited influence.
The timing of this attack is also important. Municipal elections are approaching in Telangana. By targeting Pawan, the Congress aims to weaken the BJP Janasena alliance. Congress leaders believe that if the BJP itself is struggling in Telangana, Janasena cannot add much strength to it.
At the same time, the Telangana sentiment remains a powerful political tool. By portraying Pawan as an outsider, Congress leaders are trying to consolidate local voters and protect their vote bank.
