A Big Day for High Tech Future in Andhra Pradesh

Amaravati is set to witness a major milestone on Saturday as Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, along with Union Minister for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh, will lay the foundation stone for the ambitious Amaravati Quantum Valley project.

The project aims to position Andhra Pradesh at the forefront of the global quantum technology revolution. The state government has allocated 50 acres in Uddandarayunipalem village of Thullur mandal for the construction of the Quantum Valley campus. The Chief Minister will arrive at the site in the afternoon and participate in the foundation ceremony, followed by a public address.

Quantum Valley is envisioned as a world class hub for advanced research and innovation in quantum computing, quantum communications, quantum sensors, artificial intelligence, cyber security, defence, healthcare, and finance. Leading technology giants such as IBM, TCS, and L&T are playing a key role in bringing India’s first 133 qubit quantum computer to Amaravati.

The project is expected to attract global research institutions, major technology investments, and a strong startup ecosystem. It will also create large scale employment opportunities and provide advanced skill training for lakhs of youth in the state.

Officials believe quantum technology can significantly benefit common people. It can speed up drug research in the pharma sector, improve disease diagnosis, enhance climate forecasting in agriculture, ensure better water management and crop predictions, and strengthen the security of banking and digital transactions.

The government plans to complete the Quantum Valley building by August and install the quantum computer by December. Just as Silicon Valley led the IT revolution, Amaravati aims to emerge as a global quantum hub alongside cities like Boston, Singapore, and Shanghai.
