Paramarsa Yatras: Jagan’s Repeated Pattern

Former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan has this habit of going on Paramarsa Yatras and Odarpu Yatras and he’s continuing on this path even to this day. This is becoming particularly prevalent in this ongoing tenure as Jagan is taking every other occasion to go on massive rallies.

This trend started back in February last year, when Jagan went to meet Vallabhaneni Vamsi, who was arrested for antisocial activities. He went to the Vijayawada sub jail in a big rally to meet Vamsi on Mulaqat.

This was followed by subsequent visit to Rentapaalla as he met with a YCP cadre named Nagamalleswara Rao who had allegedly died on YCP’s booth duties earlier. This was when a man named Singayya got crushed to death under Jagan’s convoy.

Then came the highly controversial Tenali trip where Jagan met with Rowdy sheeters, who had attacked a police constable under Ganja influence.

And then in July, Jagan met his close associate Kakani Govardhan Reddy in jail and consoled him. But at the same time, Jagan strangely decided not to visit the likes of Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy and Mithun Reddy who were also arrested in similar timeline.

And now in the start of 2026, Jagan has visited Ambati Rambabu and Jogi Ramesh’s family members. While Ambati is still in jail for objectionable curses on Chandrababu, Ramesh was recently released on bail in contaminated liquor case.

The common point here is that all of these individuals that Jagan had met, had either been arrested or been facing repercussions in antisocial activities. But that is not stopping the YCP chief from continuing to encourage and back them.

Another point to be noted, here is that Jagan is taking these occasions to hold massive public rallies which have become a menace for the travelling public and also posing significant threat to public safety, remarked a seasoned political analyst.
