It is already known that Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu is currently in Delhi as he is meeting with union ministers in an attempt to secure additional grants and sanctions to the state.
In this context, the chief minister met with union urban affairs minister Manohar Lal Khattar, and the two of them reportedly had a fruitful discussion about the Andhra Pradesh projects.
It is now being established in principal that the union minister had communicated to Chandrababu that the Vizag Metro rail, which was in discussion for a long time has been approved by the centre.
According to reliable Telugu media reports, it is being communicated that the central government has approved the Vizag Metro and the same was confirmed to the Andhra Pradesh chief minister.
As it is known, the Vizag Metro project aims to cover 76.9 km across three corridors, including a major line from Steel Plant to Kommadi. Now that the central government has approved this project in principal, it has to be seen what would be the full length of the project and also the route covering the same.
An official announcement to this effect from the central government and the state government authorities is expected to be made soon.
