Political commentary and exchange of words is very common in South Indian politics, but there is a fine line between political differences and personal abuse. This is evident if you look at the latest comment from Tamil Nadu, BJP president Nainar Nagendran, who is finding himself in a controversy after taking a bad shot at TVK president Thalapathy Vijay.
When asked to comment on the prospect of Thalapathy Vijay in the upcoming Tamil Nadu assembly election, the BJP chief made a wild accusation.
“Vijay is very innocent, and he doesn’t understand politic. He must come out of his nest first. Also, he must come out of Trisha’s house to understand the Ground level situation in Tamil Nadu.” The TN BJP chief alleged.
This was a very wild approach that was taken by the BJP Senior leader, as he did not just drag Vijay at a personal capacity, but he also brought out the name of actress Trisha. This has immediately gone negatively on social media as people are criticising him for making such an unnecessary comment.
A neutral observer pointed out that speaking against Vijay at a political level is perfectly understandable, but dragging his name personally, and including actress Trisha in this is pathetic.
Thalapathy Vijay’s supporters on social media are already firing at Nagendran for this wild comment, and they are demanding him to publicly apologise for what he had.
But at the same time, a few people are saying that we will see many such comments in the next few weeks as Tamil Nadu prepares for its intense assembly election battle.
