Kavitha’s Ego Making Her Target the Wrong Bull?

Kalvakuntla Kavitha tasted first success after coming out of the BRS after AIFB candidate won a municipality with her support. Buoyed by this, the former MLC announced she would start her new Party in May.

It is said that the Party Registration Formalities are already completed. Kavitha had announced that she would contest from Siddipet in the coming election.

Siddipet is the stronghold of Harish Rao. The former Minister was creating records in the Majority in one election after the other. In many elections, Harish Rao‘s Majority is more than KCR‘s or any other seat in the state.

Kavitha contesting in Siddipet will be a blunder of Epic Proportions. Kavitha has to shoulder the responsibility of the entire party. It is unlikely that noted leaders of other parties come and join Kavitha‘s Party.

So she will have to do all the heavy lifting. If she herself contests from a difficult seat, she will be cornered in that seat itself. And there will be no time to look at the other seats.

Incidentally, Sharmila did the same mistake in the 2024 General Elections. She contested from Kadapa Parliament and put all her energy in that single seat ignoring the prospects of Congress in all the other seats. She lost Kadapa and Congress did not open its account.

Kavitha‘s ambitions are much higher than Sharmila‘s. So contesting in a seat like Siddipet is a bad decision.

Also, the Hungama around Kavitha is all about the rivalry between her and KTR. Harish Rao is a small fish in the larger scenario. If she chooses Harish Rao as the enemy, she is only limiting herself.

It appears like Kavitha has some issue with Harish Rao and ego is dominating her more than anything else. But then, it is a blunder in Politics if a leader allows ego to override common sense.
