Kalvakuntla Kavitha, who was once widely labeled as the “Lady in Liquor Scam” during the peak of the Delhi liquor scam case, has now received a clean chit from the court. After months of intense political attacks, legal battles, and public scrutiny, the CBI court in Delhi has acquitted her due to lack of evidence.
The consequences of the alleged involvement were serious. Kavitha was eventually removed from BRS, along with other reasons that were cited at the time.
However, the positive development for Kavitha now is that the CBI court in Delhi has acquitted her in the Delhi liquor scam case. The court also acquitted former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and 23 others accused in the case. All of them were given a clean chit as no criminal evidence could be produced against them.
The key point here is that both Kavitha and Arvind Kejriwal faced major political consequences. Kavitha was sidelined and later pushed out of BRS, while Arvind Kejriwal lost the Delhi Assembly election and his party suffered a major setback.
At the same time, there is a positive side for Kavitha. She is currently active in Telangana politics, and this clean chit could help her rebuild her image to some extent. It may also bring her some public sympathy.
At a time when Kavitha is trying to strengthen her position in Telangana through Jagruti and is reportedly preparing the ground for her own political party, this clean chit has come at a crucial moment.
