The Union Budget 2026 to 27 has given a strong push to industrial infrastructure across India, and Andhra Pradesh has emerged as one of the biggest beneficiaries. With major projects under the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited moving ahead, the state is steadily shaping up as a manufacturing and export hub on the East Coast.
A key highlight is the Vizag-Chennai Industrial Corridor. Under this project, the Kopparthy Industrial Area has been allotted ₹2,137 crore for development across 2,596 acres. The corridor is expected to bring in investments of nearly ₹8,860 crore and create around 54,500 jobs. For several districts that need stronger industrial activity, this could be a major turning point.
Another important project is the Hyderabad-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor. The Orvakal Industrial Area under this corridor has received ₹2,786 crore for development across 2,621 acres. It is projected to attract ₹12,000 crore in investments and generate more than 45,000 jobs. With its strategic location and planned infrastructure, Orvakal has the potential to transform the Rayalaseema region into a strong industrial base.
Meanwhile, the Krishnapatnam Industrial Area under the Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor is nearing completion. Thanks to its proximity to the port and coastal access, it is expected to strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s export driven growth.
Beyond individual projects, the larger focus is on building complete industrial ecosystems. With ₹3,000 crore allocated to NICDIT and steady support for corridor development nationwide, the goal is to create ready to use industrial zones with strong logistics, transport links, and port connectivity. This plug and play model makes it easier for companies to invest and start operations quickly.
With its long coastline, strong port network, and improving connectivity, Andhra Pradesh is well placed to take full advantage of these developments. If these projects move ahead as planned, they could bring large scale investments, create thousands of jobs, and position the state as a leading manufacturing hub on India’s East Coast in the coming years.
