Pawan Kalyan has launched the Hanuman project to reduce human and wildlife conflict in Andhra Pradesh. The initiative aims to protect both people and wild animals while maintaining ecological balance.
Speaking at the launch event, he said that protecting wildlife and ensuring public safety are equally important. The project has been introduced as incidents involving crop damage, cattle loss and threats to human life have increased in recent years.
A total of 100 advanced vehicles were flagged off under the Hanuman project. These include 93 rapid response and rescue vehicles and 7 ambulances equipped to treat injured wild animals. Four wildlife rescue and treatment centers have also been set up in Visakhapatnam, Rajamahendravaram, Tirupati and another location.
Each vehicle will have a forest range officer, veterinary staff and trained helpers. Special village level teams called Vajra are also being trained to handle snake rescues and other wildlife emergencies locally.
The government has increased compensation for victims of wildlife attacks. In case of death, compensation has been raised from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. Financial aid for injuries and crop loss has also been enhanced.
AI technology will be used to monitor wildlife movement and send early alerts to forest border villages. The project also includes coordination with multiple departments to ensure quick response and relief.
With the Hanuman project, the Andhra Pradesh government aims to create a model system where humans and wildlife can coexist safely.
