Janasena Complicates Naidu’s Cabinet Plan?

There is a strong buzz in the Political Circles that Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu may expand his Cabinet any time.

Naidu repeatedly expressed displeasure on the performance of some Ministers in his team. Moreover, he is completing two years in office soon and so, the changes are imminent.

In the present Cabinet of Naidu, there is no representation for the Vishakapatnam district. This Government has taken Vishakapatnam prestigiously and is focusing more on the development there.

Also, Vishakapatnam City stayed with the TDP even in its lowest phase (in the 2019 elections).

In the 2019 elections, TDP managed to win only four out of the total fifteen assembly segments in the Vishakapatnam district. All four are the constituencies of Vizag City.

So, Naidu may take one into his team in the upcoming expansion.

Palla Srinivasa Rao who is currently the AP TDP President, Senior MLAs – Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu, and Gana Babu are also expecting a chance.

But then, Janasena is expecting a cabinet berth for Konathala Ramakrishna.

Janasena feels it should get strengthened in Uttarandhra and so, the party is focusing there.

We have seen Naga Babu targeting to contest from Etcherla and Pawan Kalyan repeatedly focusing on the Agency areas which are the strongholds of YSR Congress.

But then, there is a catch in accommodating Konathala. He is from Anakapalli district and there is already Home Minister Anitha from the district.

And so, if Konathala has to be taken into the cabinet, there can not be a berth for Vizag.

At the same time, it is difficult to remove Anitha for various reasons. She being a female and SC community. It will disturb the social equations in the Cabinet.

Chandrababu can have twenty five Ministers in his cabinet and there are only twenty four currently. So, there is one vacant slot.
