BJP Must Repent Ditching Raghu Rama Krishna Raju?

Tension flared up in Akividu, West Godavari district. Deputy Speaker Raghurama Krishna Raju had gone to visit the Rama temple located in Pedapeta. However, individuals—posing as Dalits but identified as Christians attempted to physically block Raghurama Krishna Raju and assault him to prevent his entry into the temple.

Alerted to the situation, the police quickly deployed to the scene and safely escorted Raghurama Krishna Raju out of the area. Simultaneously, leaders of the political coalition present at the site intervened to restrain some of the attackers.

The miscreants then assaulted the leaders using nails, sticks, and metal rods. Several leaders sustained severe injuries in the attack. The injured individuals were subsequently shifted to a hospital.

Raghurama Krishna Raju stated that the dilapidated Rama temple in Pedapeta, Akiveedu, would be reconstructed. Local residents objected to the construction of the Rama temple, arguing that the area was inhabited exclusively by Christians and that the site had historically housed a rest house.

Responding to this, the Deputy Speaker asked, “What harm does it cause you if we reconstruct a Rama temple that has existed here since ancient times?” He reiterated that the reconstruction of the temple would indeed proceed, noting that this intention had been announced previously. The tension arose specifically when the Deputy Speaker arrived to visit the Rama temple.

Raghu Rama is a devout Hindu and has been taking up many such causes in his Undi Constituency.

He is also fighting against the rampant conversions that are happening in his constituency. He may be the only voice supporting the Supreme Court’s Verdict that Dalits cannot have SC status if they convert into Christianity.

Incidentally, the BJP fights on such topics. However, there are no such leaders committed to the cause for the BJP in Andhra Pradesh.

Raghu Rama Krishna Raju was expecting the BJP ticket from Narasapuram Lok Sabha in 2024 elections but the Party backstabbed him at the last-minute and denied him ticket.

TDP had to accommodate him in Undi by refusing ticket to its loyal leader there.

If he were in BJP, the party would have got a very effective leader who is vocal, aggressive, financially strong, as well as committed to its core principles.
