We all know that people have vehemently rejected Jagan Mohan Reddy’s idea of Three Capitals. Even the people of Vishakapatnam have defeated YSR Congress thoroughly.
To instill the confidence of the people and the investors that there will be no further change in the Capital, Chandrababu Naidu is trying to get Legal Sanctity for Amaravati.
A resolution has been passed in the State Assembly and was sent to the Central Government. The Parliament will incorporate ‘Amaravati’ in the Reorganization Act and from there, the Capital can not be changed without the approval of the Parliament.
And the Parliament does not operate on whims and fancies of Political Leaders especially in serious subjects like the Capital.
But YSR Congress wants the Capital Confusion to continue so that the land-giving farmers, the Public, and the investors will be in two minds about the future of Amaravati.
The other day, Speaking at Moolapeta, Botsa questioned how long it would take to complete the capital city if hundreds of thousands of crores were borrowed and spent on it.
Former Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao challenged Chief Minister Chandrababu, asking whether he had spent even a mere ₹1,000 crores on the poor, despite having raised loans amounting to ₹3.50 lakh crores.
He questioned whether the capital would remain in place simply because a resolution was passed, and asked if the government was indifferent to the development of other regions, being obsessed solely with the mantra of “Amaravati.”
He questioned the logic of passing a resolution in the Legislative Assembly declaring that the capital must remain in this specific location, only to then carry that document to Delhi; he asked what would happen if a subsequent government were to come to power and declare that this location was unsuitable for a capital city.
He pointed out that the capital of our state has shifted numerous times throughout history, and asked whether it was not possible for the capital to eventually move from Amaravati to another region. He questioned what if the people of Amaravati ask others to leave the area after it is developed.
Speaking on the occasion, former Minister Seediri Appalaraju remarked that those individuals who are siphoning off the wealth of this state and concentrating it in Amaravati should be shot at Point Blank.
In every statement here, there is clear hatred on Amaravati. They are trying to give an indication that they will try and change the Capital if they come to Power. It is clearly an attempt to create confusion in the investors.
YSR Congress did not learn any lessons even after losing badly in 2024, a key political observer remarked.
