What Now! CM Has Only 10,000 Cash!

The position of the chief minister of a state comes with umpteen administrative powers and adequate responsibilities as well. While the country has seen some of the richest chief ministers, who have hundreds of crore in assets, there are also a few chief ministers like Mamta Banerjee, who have declared ₹15,00,000 assets. 

Now the discussion is about Tamil Nadu chief minister Stalin who had filed his nomination yesterday and there were some very interesting observations in the same.

The Chief minister mentioned in his affidavit that he has only ₹10,000 in cash with him while his wife has ₹40,000. He declared that the chief minister couple have just ₹50,000 total in cash which has left social media users amused. 

Interestingly, Stalin has declared that he has no motor vehicles registered in his name, despite often being seen travelling in a luxury car like the Range Rover Defender.

Along with that, CM Stalin declared that his total assets amount to around ₹6.25 crore and the majority of this is in saving schemes. 

On the contrary, there is a parallel discussion happening as people are commenting that Stalin comes from a super established political family and he is the son of farmer, Tamil Nadu chief minister Karunanidhi. So the humble declaration that he made regarding his financial assets in the affidavit have led to several discussions. 

To put that into comparison, actor Thalapathy Vijay has declared over 500 crore in assets, making him nearly 100 times richer than the chief minister of the state.
