Ugly Jibe On Jagan’s Family: Pemmasani Makes Right Call!

One of the mini infamous practises committed by the previous YCP government in Andhra Pradesh is pulling the names of the family members of politician and verbally abusing them. This happened to chief minister Chandrababu himself as his wife Bhuvaneshwari who’s not even in the house was abused in the assembly. 

But with the return of the NDA government to power, things have been changing slowly as none of the government representatives have been commenting derogatorily about opposition cadres. 

However, there was this one uncalled for incident on social media where a supposed TDP supporter posted in appropriate content about Jagan’s family. He posted a picture of Jagan with his wife and kids and unnecessarily provoked with an abusive comment. 

This was immediately and unanimously called out by the TDP supporters themselves on social media, while YCP groups were understandably frustrated. But in what could be considered a pleasant and welcome change the TDP top leadership has also taken an account of this. 

In fact, union minister Pemmasani Chandrashekar, who is one of the leading administrator posted about this incident on social media. 

“Public discourse must remain focused on issues and governance. Dragging relatives or private individuals into political exchanges is inappropriate, regardless of who does it.

Families should never be drawn into it — by anyone. Civility, boundaries, and respect for women must always be upheld. Let us draw a firm line — families are off-limits, always.” He wrote on social media as he referred to the earlier post and reprimanded the same. 

Back when YCP was in power, there was no such instance of the top leadership reprimanding the abusive leaders. In fact, they were energised further by elevation posts by their party social media folk. But with the change in power, the NDA is taking account of all these activities, which is a positive sign. It must also be noted that the party had recently arrested even its own supporters for crossing the line and abusing YCP leaders.
