Amaravati Bill Reaches the First Citizen of India

For those who don’t already know, any legislation to be passed at the central level will require the approval in the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha and then the first citizen of india, President of the country. A similar process is being observed in the case of Amaravati being declared as permanent capital of Andhra Pradesh.

As we already know, the Amaravati resolution was successfully passed in the Lok sabha and Rajya Sabha after multiple discussions that lasted nearly 5 hours. 

And now the final step of the procedure has gotten as it is being reported that the President of India, Draupadi Murmu is holding the file regarding Amaravati’s legislation as the capital in her office. Apparently, this resolution was sent to the President earlier today and this is the final step in the whole procedure. 

Considering that this resolution was already approved in the Lok Sabha and Raja Sabha and it has the full support of the central government as well, the approval of the Indian president is going to be just a formality. 

And once this resolution is officially signed by the President, it will come to affect almost immediately, and this would essentially mean that Amaravati will officially be regarded as the capital of AP.

The whole process starting from the parliament to the President of India took roughly a week and it’s finally drawing to a close now. As the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu rightly pointed out AP is no longer an address Capital less state as Amaravati will now be the proud capital of 5 crore+ people.
