The Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill, linked to the delimitation process and implementation of women’s reservation in legislatures, failed to pass in the Lok Sabha. It received 278 votes in favour and 211 against, missing the required two-thirds majority of the 489 members present and voting, leading to a major legislative setback.
