Former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao is addressing a Public Meeting for the first time in about an year in Jagtial today. The meeting comes days ahead of his daughter Kavitha announcing a new political party.
All eyes are on KCR’s speech to see if he will talk anything about Kavitha and her party. But then, something unexpected has happened.
Hours before the meeting, Senior BRS leader T. Harish Rao rushed to Delhi and will also be missing the Public Meeting fueling speculations.
Congress Party is after the BRS speculating that this is an indication of internal rift in the party and are saying the Opposition Party will be split into two. Keeping aside the Political talk, it is really surprising how Harish Rao chose to time this Delhi Trip.
KCR attending a Public Meeting after so long is a very political event in the context of the BRS Party. Anything in Delhi is not important at this juncture.
Already, BRS is facing heat due to Kavitha’s exit and Harish Rao’s tour will only become another headache at this point and it is completely unavoidable.
Congress leaders are demanding that Harish Rao should divulge details of the leaders whom he met in Delhi.
Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy says, “Entry of Jeevan Reddy into BRS is not acceptable to several party leaders. Harish Rao never invited Jeevan Reddy into the party. Harish did not accompany KTR during visits to Jeevan Reddy’s residence. KTR had to personally persuade Harish Rao to attend a later visit to Jagtial. Harish Rao was absent even when Jeevan Reddy visited KCR’s farmhouse”.
The Talk about Harish Rao drifting away from the BRS Party and floating a new party or joining another party has been in the media circles for so long. But Harish remained with the party in thick and thin. He repeatedly announced that his allegiance is with the BRS Party.
Probably, days have come for Harish Rao to decide. It is almost certain that KCR will be making KTR as his heir by next election. Harish Rao should make up his mind if he will revolt or adjust in the party.
