Multiple Indian states and union territories are heading for Assembly election today, and the most prominent names on the list are Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.
The interesting observation here is that both Tamil Nadu and West Bengal are projecting all time record voting percentages in the respective states.
As of 6 PM, Tamil Nadu has recorded 82.24 percent voting which is already higher than the 81% percent observed for the entire polling session in 2021. It should not be too big of a surprise if Tamil Nadu ends up polling 85 or possibly even 90% by the time polling gets completed.
The first phase of West Bengal elections are already posting all time record numbers with 89.9% polling recorded till now. The final number will be in the range of 93 or more, which is a sensationally good Number.
What is clear here is that the people of India are turning up in unprecedented numbers to cast their votes in this year’s assembly polls.
In comparison to the previous term’s statistics, both Tamil Nadu and West Bengal have already pulled more than that by 6PM itself with massive queues being witnessed still at polling booths. Is this is a sensationally good pro ruling wave or the anti government wave? We will know on May 4.
